The Synod of the Sun appoints a liaison (non-voting member) to Evergreen's Board of Directors. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The 990 is prepared internally by staff and is reviewed by the Executive Vice-President - CFO. The 990 is then reviewed by the CEO and other senior management. Then the final draft of the completed return is provided to each board member via email. The board members are given the opportunity to review the 990 and pose any questions which are answered by the Executive Vice President-CFO before the final filing of the return. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Annually, each member of the Board of Directors is required to review and sign the conflict of interest policy. Any potential conflicts of interest are required to be disclosed at that time. The signed policies are retained in the corporate records. Officers and other employees are required by policy to request approval from the CEO if there are any relationships or activities that could give rise to potential conflicts.
