We are partnering with "A Bridge Home" to provide the materials for several of these projects. 95126 0 0 There are close to 92 families living in campers in Yancey County due to displacement from Hurricane Helene. We have provided funding to our partners at The Beacon Network to winterize these campers. Camper Winterization: Performed on the campers to ensure they were habitable during winter months. Accessibility & Home Modification: Elevator Deposit: Paid to refit access to a home where a disabled individual (who also lost their primary residence) is living with his father. Infrastructure Repair: Herman Trail Bridge: Repaired to restore passage. Driveway Gravel: Purchased and laid to repair damaged driveways. Direct Grant Assistance Details The only direct financial assistance provided to individuals from a grant was the gift card program: Purpose: Specifically designated for families to purchase Christmas items. Only $500 per family: No individual received over $5000 in cash. Their assistance was paid directly to contractors for a specific job. 132 0 105571 Cost This amount reports was only the direct cost of providing the service and does not include any case management or overhead. By requiring dual signatures and specific treasurer oversight for electronic transfers, this has established a "segregation of duties" that significantly lowers the risk of unauthorized spending or fraud.
