For foreign grantees, budget holders and program staff manage the relationships, requests, letters of agreement, and deliverables, if necessary, of the grantees. The program staff request payments according to our cash disbursements protocol. Grant requests are uploaded to our bill payment software where they are approved by their supervisor. Finance also reviews the payments for coding and grant allocation purposes. The grants finally are approved by one of Earthworks' signatories and is released for payment. In cases where our bill payment platform can not process the grant to the particular country, the Finance and Operations Director enters a wire request in our banking platform. We're working for solutions that protect both the Earth's resources as well as our communities. We fulfill our mission by working with communities and grassroots groups to reform government policies, improve corporate practices, influence investment decisions and encourage responsible materials sourcing and consumption. We expose the health, environmental, economic, social and cultural impacts of mining and energy extraction through work informed by sound science.
