Last year's tax return was done at the rate of USD/ EURO of 1.10526 . This change in rate created in accounting terms a cumulative transaction difference in the balance sheet translation that is stated in other NET ASSETS. This amounts to USD 221,535. This means that since the school's assets are greater than its liabilities in EURO terms and since the EURO appreciated via the USD from 1.10526 to 1.1607 it created a foreign exchange gain of $ 221,535 rounded in the school's fund balance.
