This was due to three things: first and foremost by the planning for and achievement of a large conference event Progressive Central that took place the week of the Democratic Convention in Chicago and was hosted at the Chicago Teachers Union secondly by a greater degree of public advocacy which was concentrated in efforts in two state California an Illinois both efforts were not related to electoral politics at all an dfinally by a slightly greater degree of engagement with voter registration and electoral politics.
