With over 103,000 people awaiting transplantation throughout the country, and nearly 1,300 in the states of Colorado and Wyoming as of December 2024, Donor Alliance is dedicated and focused on recovering lifesaving organs for those in need. In order to fulfill its mission of saving lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation, Donor Alliance establishes and maintains strong relationships with donor hospitals, helping the hospital maximize their donation opportunities. In addition, Donor Alliance deploys an effective family approach and recovery programs in more than 112 hospitals in the two state area, to ensure that all families are offered the option of organ and tissue donation as appropriate. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Donor Alliance utilizes a compensation consultant along with independent third party surveys, and Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) surveys to evaluate and make salary range adjustments to the top Executives (CEO, CFO, COO, CMO and CAO) Survey results are communicated annually to the Executive Compensation Committee (ECC), a subset of the Board of Directors. Staff are not present at the meetings while their compensation is discussed. The chair of the ECC facilitates an annual performance appraisal of the CEO with the full Board using predetermined goals and competencies that were established by the Board. The CEO is responsible for completing a performance appraisal of the CFO, COO, CMO and CAO positions based on predetermined goals and competencies. After all information is presented, the ECC approves compensation levels for the next year. Key employees are evaluated annually by Executive Leadership (CEO, CFO, COO, CAO) and salary increases are based on performance within prescribed salary ranges. The Human Resources team reviews independent surveys to ensure salary ranges are reasonable compared to organizations of similar size and scope and increases in salary are given based on predetermined goals and competencies.
