Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a Members that have rights to elect members of a governing body: a member in "good standing" that has been a member of the local at least 12 consecutive months has the right to nominate and vote for the officers of the local union every three years. In order to be in "good standing", members must not be more than 2 months in arrears in the payment of dues. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b Members in good standing have the right to vote, at the monthly meetings (general membership), in regards to the following recommendations made by the executive board: contributions, conferences and training to be attended by officers, or noncontracted expenses. Members are entitled to question any expense read during the general membership meetings and therefore the expenses could be denied or approved. The Financial Secretary and the bookkeeper review and approve it before it is filed. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15b The Regional Council allots a predetermined number of hours to the Local for compensation paid to the Board Officers based on the number of officers and trustees of the Local. Once the allotment has been determined, the Financial Secretary determines the amount that is allocated to each Officer. The Officers are compensated based on their hourly rates determined for their position, therefore comparability data is satisfied. The process is documented in the Local's Finance Committee Policy Manual. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The organization makes its governing documents and financial statements available to the public upon request. The organization was in the process of creating a conflict of interest policy during the fiscal year. It was implemented 7/1/2024 and is made available to the public upon request. Form 990, Part XII, Line 1 Organization utilizes a modified cash accounting method. Form 990, Part XII, Line 2b The audit is still in process because the organization switched CPA audit firms to perform the audit for 6/30/2024.
