The bodies that run these schools are state-funded independent charities; thier governors are charity trustees. As such they do not have to register with the countries Charity Commission and are called exempt charties. In January of each year the organiztion sends to all institutions that received $5000.00 or more in grants a verification letter that the funds were used in accordence with the terms of the grant which they must return in order to continue to receive grants in the future.
