The Organization believes that it has appropriate support for the income tax positions taken and to be taken, and that its accruals for tax liabilities are adequate for all open tax years based on an assessment of many factors including experience and interpretations of tax laws applied to the facts of each matter. The President and CEO is employed by contract, which is reviewed before it expires. The Board of Directors engages legal counsel and other qualified experts for assistance in reviewing the CEO employment contract and any compensation and/or benefit agreements. The base for CEO's compensation is compared with other nonprofit CEOs, reviewed by legal counsel, and approved by the Board of Directors prior to agreement to ensure reasonableness. The President and CEO is responsible for determining and reviewing the compensation of employees and officers that report directly back to the CEO. In cases where the CEO and any directly reporting employees also involves an individual who shares some conflict of interest with the CEO, the CEO will follow the procedures outlined above for determining the President and CEO's own compensation agreement.
