Grace leadership symposium that brought together community leaders, preservationists, and architecture enthusiasts to reflect on Grace's profound impact on Palm Beach; published The Architecture and Advocacy of John and Jane Volk by Dr. Jane S. Day; and increased our advocacy presence within the Town of Palm Beach to protect our landmark buildings. During 2022-2023 season, the Preservation Foundation launched the public phase of a $30 million campaign to revitalize the 20-acre Phipps Ocean Park, with a design by renowned landscape architect Raymond Jungles and award-winning architectural firm (Continues on Schedule O) Fairfax & Sammons, that relocates the Little Red Schoolhouse to the heart of the park surrounding it with new, vernacular architecture and restored ecosystems of native plants; and published the first children's book on architect Addison Mizner with author Bob Forbes and illustrator Barbara McClintock.The Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach is dedicated to preserving the architectural and cultural heritage and the unique quality of the Town of Palm Beach. Through advocacy initiatives, educational programs, architectural resources, and cultural events, the Foundation's goal is to encourage the community to learn about and save the historic sites that truly make Palm Beach special. Since 1980, the Preservation Foundation has undertaken numerous projects throughout the island that protect the heritage and enhance the beauty of Palm Beach. Millions of dollars have been raised to preserve and restore historic resources like Sea Gull Cottage and Town Hall. Projects such as Pan's Garden have fostered a deeper appreciation for the island's botanical heritage. Most recently, the beautification project at Bradley Park transformed a 4.4-acre public park located on the town's historic main street.Along with special exhibitions and publications that advance scholarship in the history of Palm Beach, the Preservation Foundation offers educational programs that serve 6,000 students annually. Heritage Education outreach programs teach the concept of learning about the history and culture of the community through the medium of local architecture. Section 501(c)(3) since it is organized and operates for educational purposes. Internal Revenue Code Section 501(a) exempts the Foundation from income taxes and Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(VI) allows donors a deduction for contributions to the Foundation. The Foundation evaluates its uncertain tax positions in accordance with FASB ASC 740, Income Taxes, which states that management's determination of the taxable status of an entity, including its status as a tax-exempt entity, is a tax position subject to the standards required for accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Management does not believe that the Foundation has any significant uncertain tax positions that would be material to the financial statements. There are currently no open federal or state tax years under audit. Part II Line 9: Facade easements that have been donated in past years include the Warden House, Daily News Building and the Chesterfield Hotel. Through these donations the Foundation now controls the appearance of the facades. In addition, the Palm Beach Country Club has donated its development rights to the Foundation in order to ensure the continued use of the property for recreational purposes. The Foundation has also received an open space easement on a parcel of property within the Town of Palm Beach. The value of the facades, development rights, and easements are not recorded on the Statement of Financial Position of the Foundation since the value of the Foundation's interest in the facades, development rights, and easements cannot be determined.
