Line 4b - Documentation of scholarships or financial assistance:In 2019 The Pottery awarded full tuition scholarships to our teen class to students participating in the pottery workshop we provide to Horizons Greater Washington. GEP established the Kathy Darby Scholarship Program to fund scholarships to The Potterys teen classes for students who are not able to afford the tuition. The scholarship also includes funding to pay for transportation to and from class. Scholarships are awarded only on the basis of financial need. Governmental Agency Financial Aid (Questions 6a and 6b) The Pottery received funding during 2024 from the Maryland State Arts Council for general operating support to organizations that produce ongoing arts programming to the public. The Pottery received funding during 2024 from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County under a general operating support grant to support day-to-day operations. Organizational document changes Part VI line 4 On October 2, 2024, the Board amended the bylaws to introduce term limits for Board members effective with the annual meeting in January 2025. Directors may now hold office for a term of three years and will be limited to a maximum of two consecutive terms. Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11 The form 990 is reviewed by the president, a director and the executive director of The Organization. After approval of the form 990, the final filing copy is signed by the Treasurer and submitted to IRS. CEO executive director top management comp Part VI line 15a The Boards Executive Committee conducted its annual review of the salaries for the Executive Director and Artistic Director/Facilities Manager on September 27 and October 24, 2024. They presented their recommendations to the full Board on November 12. The Board accepted their recommendation to increase the salary of the Executive Director by $2,000 effective November 1, 2024. They also agreed not to offer the Artistic Director/Facilities Director an increase in his facilities manager salary. The Board also approved a Cost of Living increase of 3.2% (equal to the Federal COLA for 2024) for both the Executive Director and the Artistic Director/Facilities Manager effective November 1, 2024.
