This includes publicizing the policy in a manner consistent with IRS guidelines, ensuring staff awareness, and administering financial aid without regard to race, color, or national origin. To support its commitment to nondiscriminatory practices, Onward and Upward maintains records regarding the ethnicity of enrolled students. These records help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the organizations policies. However, the organization does not collect or retain ethnicity data for faculty or administrative staff. Scholarship assistance is awarded solely based on financial need and is not influenced by race, ethnicity, or any other protected characteristic. Pt VI, Line 11b Form 990 is initially reviewed by organizational management for accuracy and completeness. Following this internal review, the completed form is presented to the board of directors for their review prior to its submission to the IRS. Pt VI, Line 15a The organization engaged an independent third party to conduct a compensation study for the Executive Director position. The study evaluated comparable roles at similarly sized organizations with similar scope of operations to determine reasonable and appropriate compensation. Pt VI, Line 15b An independent third party conducted a comprehensive compensation analysis for the organizations officers and key employees. This analysis benchmarked each position against comparable roles at similarly sized and structured nonprofit organizations to ensure compensation was fair, reasonable, and aligned with industry standards. Based on the findings, it was determined that the compensation of the Executive Director falls at the lower end of the range when compared to peer organizations.
