Annual Form 990 tax returns are posted on the organizations website and additional governance or financial documents including policies are available upon request. BlaqOut a small but rapidly growing nonprofit acted in good faith to comply with all IRS filing requirements by requesting and receiving an extension for our Form 990. Despite this we experienced unforeseen delays due to simultaneous organizational transitions including leadership changes expanded programming and external accounting vendor turnover which temporarily affected our ability to complete the return by the extended due date. At no point did we willfully neglect our responsibilities and we have since strengthened our internal financial controls and reporting systems to prevent recurrence. We respectfully request relief for the late filing as our actions were reasonable and made with ordinary business care and prudence.
