In Spring 2024, DAYS Long Beach joined the City of Long Beach Safe Passage Initiative in partnership with AOC7 and Long Beach Forward. Through the Community Ambassador Program (CAP), trained adult volunteers monitor routes near local schools to ensure students, families, and caregivers travel safely. CAP parents, community member volunteers are present at key intersections, fostering trust with students, and supporting efforts to reduce violence and harassment during school commutes. Many LLB participants are current or former students of the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), Long Beach City College (LBCC), and California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).
