We believe that powerful literacy skills are core to social justice, social mobility, and equal opportunity. We work towards this goal with two complementary programs: 1) a youth writing and journalism program, Teens in Print and 2) professional development and coaching services to schools, districts and education organizations so that they may better serve young people to develop into independent and engaged readers, writers and critical thinkers. The 2023-2024 fiscal year marked significant milestones in WriteBostons continued commitment to empowering youth through literacy, while also expanding its reach and organizational capacity. WriteBostons programs for educators and students have deepened their impact, with substantial efforts focused on enhancing literacy practices, community building, and supporting marginalized youth. We provided coaching to over 60 educators, served 1,390 students across multiple districts, and worked with 78 youth participants in our Teens in Print (TiP) program.
