The hospital Foundation shares in the Vision of Mobridge Regional Hospital of "Becoming one of America's finest rural health providers". Since 1991 the advocacy, promotion and inspiration to raise funds and positively promote the community owned medical facility has been the #1 priority.The Foundation provides an important fundraising outreach service for the Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics. All of the Foundation funds and activities benefit the entire region through improved healthcare, education, and screening. The Foundation provides visibility for the Hospital through its fundraising activities in the community, and promotes fundraising efforts to create an awareness of improved health for all persons in the service area.In FY 2024, we completed our first year of our three-year capital campaign to support the Mobridge Regional Hospital and Clinics building and renovation project. We were able to secure several donations. We held a gala fundraiser and a golf tournament fundraiser. Students who are awarded scholarships from the Foundation are required to sign a scholarship agreement setting forth their commitment to serve rural residents upon successful completion of their medical program. Applicants must be from the four county area of Campbell, Corson, Dewey and Walworth, SD. An applicant must be pursuing a healthcare career in a profession involving direct patient care within the hospital setting. Some examples of these professions include: nursing, paramedic, pharmacy, surgical technology, radiology technology, laboratory technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Through providing scholarships, the Foundation helps to development the work force needed by the supported organization, Mobridge Regional Hospital. Part IV, Section D, Line 3: The Bylaws require that at least one member of the governing body must be a member of the Board of Directors of Mobridge Regional Hospital. Josh Wudel acted as a member of the Board for both organizations. Additionally, the Bylaws require that the Chief Executive Officer of Mobridge Regional Hospital act as a non-voting member of the Foundation. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors of the Mobridge Regional Hospital. These facts substantiate the Foundation is responsive to the needs and demands of the supported organization. Part IV, Section E, Line 2a In addition to providing financial support, the Foundation supported Mobridge Regional Hospital by providing scholarships to students in the healthcare field. The foundation provided three types of scholarships, as follows: Medical career scholarship - this scholarship is awarded to students in the Mobridge area that are pursuing a career in a profession involving direct patient care within the hospital setting. Students sign a scholarship agreement setting forth their commitment to serve rural residents upon successful completion of their medical program. Dr. Ben Henderson Medical Career Advancement Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to a current employee of Mobridge Regional Hospital. Students who are awarded this scholarship are required to sign a scholarship agreement setting forth their commitment to serve rural residents upon successful completion of their medical program. Dr. Keith Nolop Medical Career Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to students in the Mobridge area who are pursuing nursing, pharmaceutical, or Medical Doctorate Degrees. Part IV, Section E, Line 2b By providing scholarships to healthcare students, the foundation is encouraging and assisting students in fulfilling the education requirements needed to work at Mobridge Regional Hospital. This lessens the burden on the hospital of finding and attracting qualified people to work at the Hospital. If not for the Foundation's efforts in furthering the development of students interested in the healthcare field, the Hospital would need to focus on this area itself.
