The Smithsonian institution is also a member and appoints one person as a director. The former Chair of The Board also remains on The Board of Directors. The Officers of The Council consist of the Chair, vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and shall be members of The Board at the time of their election to office, with the possible exception of the treasurer. The management of The Councils business is delegated to an executive committee consisting of eight members that include the four Officers, the former Chair, and two members that are elected.
