Audit reports are provided to officers and members of the Executive Council as provided for in Article V, Section 2 and 8 of the Constitution of the Federation. The Form 990 for each year is made available upon request by any affiliate of the organization and their members. The Federation makes its filed Form 990 reports available for inspection by members and the public upon request by permitting their inspection at its business offices during regular business hours. As noted in Line 12A, the Federation has not conflict of interest policy, but it follows the fiduciary standards set out in the Labor Management Disclosure and Reporting Act. Form 990, Part IX, Line 24a - 24d The Federation provided a donation to the University of Iowa Labor Center to assist the Labor Center with its labor education programs. Additionally, at its 2021 annual convention, the Federation adopted a resolution establishing a scholarship for post-secondary education, in the name of its late legal counsel, MacDonald Smith, to be given to a family member of a member of an affiliated labor organization each year beginning in 2023. The scholarship is funded through voluntary donations.
