This committee then works with the Community Foundation of Frederick County (CFFC) to solicit grant requests from local non-profit organizations. Submitted grant requests are evaluated by the committee and awards are made consistent with the requirements of specific funds held by the CFFC for use by the Rotary Club of Frederick. Upon approval by the Board, the CFFC is notified of the grant decisions and funds are released to the awarded organizations. The Rotary Club of Frederick often supplements the CFFC awards with funds from its operating/saving accounts to increase the community impact of the grants. In Fiscal Year 2024, this additional support totaled $45,395 for grants awarded in 2023 and 2024. The Rotary Club of Frederick also identified Sleep in Heavenly Peace as it "Signature Project" for the year. The club provided a $10,000 grant which was used to purchase materials to build beds for children. Club members then volunteered their services to help build the beds.
