The breadth and depth of the YMCA's youth development programs span across 44,300 children in our programs, 14 Central Ohio school districts and our 85 licensed child care sites. It is our hope that our partners and stakeholders at all levels of government understand the impact of the YMCA of Central Ohio. In addition, we need support from our government partners to grow and sustain that impact. Tony Collins had 23 meetings and tours with key government stakeholders, including Columbus City Councilmembers, Mayor Ginther, Franklin County Commissioners, Ohio State House Representatives, and Ohio State Senators. These meetings and tours were focused on sharing the YMCA of Central Ohio's impact throughout the region, advocating for current legislation per the Ohio Alliance of YMCA's, and advocating for sustained funding or special projects for support. It is estimated that 17.25 hours were spent in these meetings. Becky Ciminillo serves as a member of the Advocacy Committee for the Ohio Association for Child Care Providers (OACCP) and spoke with state legislators about the need to increase funding to support child care professionals as well as child care accessibility, affordability and quality for families. For example New state budget recommendations for child care provider supports like, higher reimbursement rates for publicly funded child care, grants to support center viability, quality and higher wages for Ohio's child care professionals. The amount of time spent on OACCP activities in 2024 was 125 hours. Becky also serves on the Licensing Transition Focus Group for the new Department of Children & Youth. The focus group advocates for changes to the state licensing child care rules on behalf of providers. The amount of time spent on the focus group advocacy in 2024 was 25 hours. Bobbi Shannon participated in committee work around health initiatives, healthy standards and professional development for Ohio's early childhood participants and professionals. The amount of time spent on this committee work in 2024 was 20 hours. The YMCA pays annual dues to the Ohio State Alliance of YMCA's./OAN/OACCP. This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as of now enacted and hereafter amended.
