<ExplanationTxt>Out My Closets total expenditures for the 2024 tax year amounted to $68,072. These funds were used to advance the organizations mission of supporting unhoused and under-resourced LGBTQ+ youth and adults through mobile resource delivery, empowerment programming, and leadership development. $15,000 was allocated toward the purchase of a reliable used SUV, which is essential for Out My Closets daily operations. The remaining $53,072 supported the following programmatic efforts: 1. Mobile Resource Pop-Up Boutiques (31 conducted) $33,072 In 2024, Out My Closet conducted 31 Mobile Resource Pop-Up Boutiques across South Florida and New York City. These events served unhoused and under-resourced LGBTQ+ youth and adults, particularly transgender women, asylum seekers, and individuals impacted by homelessness or domestic violence. Funds were used to support the full scope of operations, including: Clothing prep, sorting, and storage of donated and new inventory (e.g., jackets, shoes, undergarments, and accessories) Transportation and logistics, including van rentals, tolls, gas, and loading/unloading supplies Event materials and setup, including rolling racks, mirrors, tables, signage, and pop-up tents to ensure a dignified boutique-style experience Hygiene and self-care kits, including cosmetics, dental care, deodorant, socks, and period products Onsite support and coordination, including stipends for volunteers, community liaisons, and event leads Meals and water for staff and participants at day-long events Each boutique was hosted in partnership with trusted community-based organizations (CBOs), ensuring safe access points for clients. These events supported both crisis response and longer-term resource building, serving over 2,000 individuals in 2024. Queer Mens Empowerment Workshops (11 hosted) $10,000 These monthly workshops created affirming spaces for young queer men of color to explore topics such as mental health, HIV stigma, relationships, spirituality, community leadership, and personal resilience. Programmatic expenditures supported: Nutritious meals and refreshments for participants to foster a sense of care and community Facilitators and wellness practitioners who led guided discussions, meditation, art-based healing, and cultural education Workshop materials such as journals, candles, discussion prompts, custom fragrances, and wellness kits Honoraria for guest speakers with lived experience in topics like HIV, suicide prevention, and creative resilience Venue rentals for safe, private spaces in both formal and home-based environments Team stipends to support pre- and post-program engagement, setup, and clean-up Workshops were trauma-informed and culturally responsive, helping to reduce isolation and increase self-worth among participants. Each session prioritized storytelling, resource-sharing, and intentional joy often culminating in shared affirmations or closing rituals. Collectively, these events supported over 300 unique participants in 2024. LGBTQ+ Youth Internship Program (30 week internship) $10,000 This initiative provided mentorship, leadership opportunities, and workforce exposure to LGBTQ+ youth. Funds were used to cover intern stipends, transportation support, and daily meal expenses during programming and service delivery. All services were provided at no cost to participants and prioritized community dignity, trauma-informed care, and empowerment.</ExplanationTxt>
