Form 990, Header, Line B We are submitting this as an amendment as we were unaware that a 990 was already filed. The Board and Executive Staff did not approve a 990 filing, though we were awaiting follow up by an accountant that was hired (Cynthia Fletcher of Fletcher Accounting & Tax Services). After Hurricane Milton, we lost contact with Ms. Fletcher and the status of our 990 draft and edits requested, so we prepared to file ourselves. Form 990, Part III, Line 2 In 2023, Soil & Soul expanded its strategy to include economic justice. Recognizing that people with low-wealth need more money to achieve holistic well-being and maintain it, we developed a commonwealth initiative with two programs: Freedom Fund and Wellness Dividend. Both programs help put more money in the hands of everyday people. 1. Freedom Fund is a no-interest loan fund for members of Soil & Soul Mindfulness Circles. Members can receive a no-interest loan to eliminate or reduce interest-bearing debt or to pursue higher education or job training. 2. Wellness Dividend provides monthly income for graduates of Soil & Soul Mindfulness Training. After training, Soil & Soul Mindfulness Circle members can receive a monthly dividend by fulfilling a role as a circle manager. Hurrican Milton caused many delays with our filing capacities as our accountant was no longer available from experiencing complications from the storm and we had to figure out how to file ourselves, as no other professionals within our budget have been available.
