Three hundred fifty-two adults participated in Project Healthy Minds group sessions to address the root cause of their homelessness. One hundred three emergency shelter guests were placed into more stable living environments. Each emergency shelter guest and supportive housing resident worked with a qualified professional to develop a plan of action to address issues that led to homelessness, and each was referred to necessary treatment and services to overcome obstacles to self-sufficiency. Volunteers from partner churches and various community organizations serve dinner every night of the year to women and chidren staying at First Light. The Organization received in excess of 10,000 volunteer hours. Dinner volunteers bring all the food and drink to serve approximately 70 guests each night. Also, on occasions such as Thanksgiving, complete turkey dinners are provided for the approximately 50 clients in the scattered-site housing. The Organization receives in-kind donations throughout the year. At the beginning of each school year, school supplies and uniforms for the children in the organizations's programs are donated. Some furniture and other necessary items for living in apartments are donated to help the women in the organization's permanent housing.
