<PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>To develop and provide positive and innovative events and social service programs for youth and their families to achieve empowerment and purpose</PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>
<ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>2023 started off with good vibes, lots of energy and excitement but we knew that the remnants and after effects of COVID still lingered and would need to be addressed because of trauma that it caused such as uncertainty, loss, grief, instability, scarcity, and all the long term health effects of the virus that our community was still dealing with. We knew that Mental health had to be at the top of our list of our areas to address when creating any programs, projects and events. CFF had to rally the troops to look for and create lists of service providers that we could partner, and collaborate with to access any and all services that would provide our community to address the issues mentioned above, especially if they were free of charge and culturally appropriate for the communities we work with. CFF HIGHLIGHTS FOR 2023: Long Beach Forward: Through funding and a partnership with Long Beach Forward and Best Start Central Long Beach organizations, CFF provided the New Job New Life program to 25 Latina women and 2 latino males. Project delegates and coordinators Rosario Roldan and Karina Mendoza coordinated the workshops and accomplished the following goals: CFF partnered with Long Beach Forward, Human-IT, Tichenor Clinic, Our Generation Cares, GoodWill, Orange County's Credit Union, Federacion de clubes unidos por Guerrero, the City of Long Beach, and the Long Beach Food Pantry. Over 40 parents participated in and completed trainings to learn technology skills to be support their children and families, to better manage their finances, and to be better prepared to locate resources, including preparing a resume, finding and applying for jobs. Each participant received their own portable tablet. Following the program 32 participants were selected to participate in "CFFs" Familia y Fortalesa Program for a four-week training and healing session. The sessions were broken down into Mental Wellness, Physical Wellness, Spiritual Wellness and the women brought in amazing community partners such as the WIC program, the Long Beach Police Department, Mental Health Los Angeles, The Long Beach Health Department, Yoga instructors, personal safety instructors, nutritionists, meditation and reiki healers and parenting experts to provide an intense but well rounded project so the participants received a mix of resources to help them heal the trauma cause by COVID. At the completion of the program, each graduate received a cap and gown and participated in a graduation ceremony banquet with their families. I Matter 2 Summer Youth program: Through a grant from the City of Long Beach With this funding, "CFFs" accomplishments were multi-tiered. Through this summer youth program, CFF kept youth off the streets and in a safe and positive space, where they were fed good food, they received group mentoring, education on drug and alcohol awareness, bullying and suicide awareness, self-esteem, leadership and empowerment workshops, and they gained diverse skill sets that taught them how to Make Money Now so they can make extra money and contribute to their household. Modeling 101, Jewelry making, custom candle making, t-shirt, hat and mug design, fashion design, photography and video editing, and how to be makeup artists. The workshops were taught by community members and professionals. Our success story is that, out of all the youth that participated in the makeup artist workshop at least 1 was super talented and will be hired to work with Lori Smith, who is a professional Makeup artist, photographer and stylist for the "Emmys" "Grammys and other fashion shows around the world. This female is 18 years old and will be traveling with Lori Smith as her assistant and she will be meeting top notch designers, modeling coaches, makeup artists and stylist from L.A. to New York to Paris. We are very proud of her and grateful to be able to offer her an opportunity to become a world-famous makeup artist and stylist. Trans Pride 2023: CFF and the Trans Pride committee held the third annual trans pride event at Recreation Park in Long Beach where they hosted over 400 community members, and provided them with live entertainment, food and a wide range of resources from over 30 resource vendors catering to the trans community, including mobile testing centers. For the 20th Annual Spirit of Christmas toy drive and brunch, we partnered with Human Services Association (HSA) to inspire the families and give Toys, school supplies, and self-care bags to members of our community affected by domestic violence and abuse. In the weeks leading up to our main event, CFF, together with Shaman Tata Guillermo, hosted a series of 4 Holistic workshops for these community members focused on empowering the participants through deepening their connection with their families, community and selves. Those who participated in these workshops received special recognition on the day of the main event. The main event was a brunch for more than 100 women, men and children living in domestic violence shelters. Highlights included an Ancestral Blessing of the Land, empowerment speakers Renee Sotile and MJ Godges who shared a touching video presentation titled Remembering Nicole (Nicole Brown Simpson) which truly moved and inspired the participants. We had performances by musical performers from Rockin Blues Entertainment. This year we also the introduced an outdoors children 's zone where volunteers from Long Beach City College hosted arts & crafts, games, and activities for all of the youth in attendance, as well as a live performance from Downtown Clown. The event culminated with Santa giving out gift sacks of toys for each family and self-care bags for the parents.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
