The agency's external auditors may be consulted on matters that may require professional opinion or advice. The board members are notified that the Form 990 has been filed and are welcome to see the returns upon request. Persons with conflict of interests are to recuse themselves from decision making where such conflicts exist. Such persons are NOT allowed to participate in the discussions and decision making. The Corporate Compliance Officer holds bi-weekly meetings with the staff where compliance matters including conflict of interest are discussed. A system is also in place that encourages confidential reporting of corporate non-compliant activities. A policy of non-retaliation is in place to encourage those who report these non-compliant activities. All staff complete and document the annual training on corporate compliance. An annual job performance evalution against job expectations is performed by the Board's Personnel Committee. In addition, the review process includes comparative date analysis on salaries and benefits of other agencies of similar size, budget, operations and program services. The Committee submits its recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval. The last executive review was done in 2023.
