Schedule A, Part IV, Section E, Line 2a The Regional One Health Center strives to make the patients as comfortable as possible during their stressful visits; making the patients comfortable is also the mission of the Auxiliary. We provide clothing, toiletries and magazines to patients and their families as well as raise money running the gift shop to provide equipment and facilities that are necessary for the patients' health care. We also provide a quiet place, a chapel, for the family members and the patients to retreat to for prayer and meditation. On January 1, 2024, the Auxiliary gave the gift shop inventory to the hospital for the hospital to take over the business. The profits of the gift shop have been used for the past 40 years for the comfort and care of the patients of Regional One Health Center. The Auxiliary is too small and the volunteers are too old to do this anymore. The Board of the Auxiliary decides which projects to fund, based on the amount of our gift. The amount of the gift is based on the profits of the gift shop. The monetary gift and the approved projects are presented to the hospital. The equipment is purchased through the hospital and the Auxiliary signs off on the paperwork when the transaction(s) is (are) complete. The Auxiliary no longer has the personnel or members to run the business. The profits from the operation of the gift shop allowed the Auxiliary to make financial donations to the Foundation. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 5 Because the number of our volunteers is decreasing and because we are all aging, the Board of Directors voted to gift the Auxiliary's assets of inventory and some cash to the Regional One Health Center to operate the gift shop. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 Any person over the age of 18 may apply to be a member of the Auxiliary. The applicant is subject to a background check and must complete a training session.
