There has been an historic and continuing relationship between CFF and its supported organizations going back to the foundations inception in 1966. A majority of CFFs board of directors are credentialed ministers of the Assemblies of God. Additionally, several of the directors also serve on the governing boards of or are officers of the supported organizations.Article Four of CFFs Articles of Incorporation states, Said corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law). Article IV of CFFs bylaws states, In making distributions provided in Article Four of the Articles of Incorporation of the corporation, preference shall be given to benevolent institutions, missionary interests and educational institutions of the Assemblies of God. First, all grant requests are fully vetted prior to approval and funding to ensure that the recipient is a supported organization in the United States and that the request is for a specific designated purpose. The vetting process includes supported organizations submitting detailed grant proposals with clearly-delineated parameters for the use of grant funds. Second, grants are made only to supported organizations; because CFF and the supported organization(s) have several joint board members, the joint board members steward and monitor the use of grant funds at the supported organization. Third, grants made from donor-advised funds are monitored by the respective donor-advisors, who liaise with both the supporting organization and supported organization. Fourth, foundation officers and directors routinely monitor the use of grant funds by participating in events connected to completed projects (ribbon cuttings, dedications, awards events, etc.) and reviewing published reports from projects (news articles, press releases, etc.). Fifth, the foundation requests written acknowledgment from the supported organization that receipts each grant in a way that acknowledges the specific designated purpose.
