Part VI, Line 12c The Conflict-of-Interest Policy of the Cornerstone Community Development Corporation, Inc. is written to: 1. Define what constitutes a conflict of interest; 2. Identify the individual within our organization covered by the conflicts-of-interest policy; 3. Provide a means for the individuals to disclose information that help identify conflicts of interest; 4. Outline the procedures to be followed in managing conflicts of interest. Once a year our Board makes sure of the following for each of our Board members; 1. Has received a copy of the conflict-of-interest policy 2. Has read and understands the policy; 3. Has agreed to comply with the policy; 4. Understands that the organization is charitable and that in order to maintain its federal tax exemption, it must engage primarily in activities and transactions that provide impermissible benefits to individuals or entities. In addition, we require the Board members to do the following: 1. Certify that he or she has no actual or possible conflict of interest and to report, if so; and 2. Describe any relationship, transactions, or other circumstances, including those of family members, that could result in conflict between the organization's interest and is or her personal financial or other interests.
