The alumni appeal was introduced in 2012 and has runeach year since. Until 2016 the appeal had been a postal appeal supported by email. In 2016, a telephone component was added. Telephone appeals are becoming increasingly popular among universities, usually yielding high response rates. The telephone appeal is proposed to bring in a largenumber of new donors, while reconnecting with alumni and lapsed donors in a way that postal appeals cannot. In 2023, over 10,000 alumni werecontacted for donations.The Board of Directors includes a good representation from across the United States. None of the board members are related. The Organization provides funding for specific educational programs to enhance the experience of students and faculty of Massey University.
