Purchases of collection items are reported in the year of acquisitions as decreases in net assets without donor restrictions, or in net assets with donor restrictions if the assets used to purchase the items were restricted to that use by donor stipulation. Contributions of collection items are not reported in the financial statements. Proceeds from disposal of and insurance recoveries related to collection items are reported as increases in the appropriate net asset classes. Part III, Line 4: The Art and Historic Treasures are on display at a public exhibition. There is a contributory box where you can make donations to help to expand to the organization's collection. Part V, Line 4: The Holocaust and Humanity Center (HHC) has established an Endowment Fund, the initial corpus of which is the surplus from its capital campaign, and whose purpose is to provide long term stability and investment earnings for the organization. Part X, Line 2: The Organization is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and a similar provision of Ohio state law. However, the Organization is subject to federal income tax on any unrelated business taxable income. The Organization's IRS Form 990 is subject to review and examination by federal and state authorities. The Organization believes it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and therefore, does not have any uncertain income tax positions that are material to the financial statements. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b A copy of the form 990 is provided to the board prior to filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Board members are required to sign the annual disclosure. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 The Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education Executive Committee determines the compensation. The decision is made by examining comparable compensation plans for organizations of similar size and scope. The data along with the individual's experience is factored in the compensation plan. The same process is followed for other key employees but is implemented by the Executive Director and approved by the Executive Committee.
