Since its relaunch as The Voter Network (EIN 48-1143190) our 501c3 experienced exponential growth and began to function beyond the original intent of "The Mainstream Education Foundation" (EIN 48-1143190). At the end of 2022, the decision was made to spin-off The Voter Network into a new, non-affiliated organization. At that time, we retained EIN 48-1143190 and restored its name to a Mainstream brand: Mainstream Civic Engagement Foundation, and the (new) Voter Network obtained a separate EIN and 501c3 status with the IRS. With that transition, The Voter Network retained its body of programmatic work including Voter to Voter and KS Ballot. Since January 2020, Mainstream and the (new) Voter Network have been functionally separate entities.
