His separation agreement was activated upon his departure. Under the terms of the agreement, AFTA was obligated to pay $1,232,172, less applicable payroll tax and withholdings, in 2021. Further payments are required in 2022 under the agreement terms. In addition, Mr. Lynch will continue to receive premium payments on disability insurance through 2022. Part I: The Action Fund does not directly hire or compensate employees. All contract labor are employees of AFTA, a related organization under section 501(c)(3). The Action Fund has a contract labor agreement with AFTA. All officers of AFTA serve the Action Fund on a volunteer basis.
