Locally, we supported a successful campaign for a rent cap in Antioch, we led the effort to organize renters in Vallejo, and participated in a coalition to support the ability of tenants to purchase their building when they are being sold by their landlords in Oakland. Our local lobbying activities included meeting with elected officials to secure funding for a land trust in Vallejo and rent cap in Antioch. Our transportation work focused on MTC securing state enabling legislation for a transportation funding measure. At the state level, we coordinated lobby visits in support of budget requests and legislation to help bridge the budget crisis facing Bay Area transit agencies. 240232 46006 Our BCLI program trains and supports low-income people of color to serve on local and regional boards and commissions in the Bay Area. In 2022, we convened our 14th BCLI cohort with 11 fellows representing various counties in the Bay Area. Ten of the fellows from 2022 are serving on a commission.
