The audit committee asked all board members to provide any questions or comments regarding the Form 990 to them in a timely manner. The audit committee formally reports on the Form 990 to the Board of Directors, who is responsible to approve their actions upon board approval, the CEO signs and files the return. The evaluation consisted of compiling performance reviews of the Executive Director by the individual executive board members and obtaining comparable compensation survey information for executive directors at similar-sized Jewish community centers. Based on the performance reviews and the compensation survey, a compensation package was determined by the executive committee and negotiated with the Executive Director. The executive committee then presented the compensation package to the board for its approval. The determination of compensation for staff other than the Executive Director is informal. Managers usually research and suggest compensation amounts, and the Executive Director has the final approval of the compensations amounts.
