Because of the Covid 19 Pandemic,our camp's attendance was down compared to prior to 2020 numbers. We anticipate that 2023 will be back to normal as our camp is booked solid. As the previous year, contributions allowed us to open. The contributions included $47,151 from several businesses that were registered in the State of Ohio to operate Bingo Operations. We are listed as one of their 501(3) organizations that they are required to donate a percentage of their gambling operations. Without these contributions, we would have had a difficult time meeting all of our obligations. In addition we had some storm damage to our cabins and received an insurance claim in the amount of $2,524. Nor have we ever had a support organization. 43000 43000 357123 280696 76427 93658 53961 39697 159124 Pt VI, Line 2 Our Camp manager was the only full-time employee that we had during 2022. Our Camp Manager was paid $29,783.34, but volunteered many hours throughout the year to help mow and do other maintenance duties. She is the wife of one of our Board Members. He abstains from any decisions pertaining to her performance or compensation. In addition, he does not participate in any discussions evaluating the Camp Manager's performance or duties. Pt VI, Line 7a We sell annual memberships to our camp at a cost of $10 per person or $20 per family. We only collected $115 in membership fees. At the annual January meeting, the membership amends the by-laws as needed and elect the new members to the board of directors. All members of the Board and the Treasurer are volunteers and receive no compensation for serving on the Board. These individuals spend many hours over the year working for the betterment of the camp. They truly are volunteers and do this for the 4-H children. Pt VI, Line 11b The Board usually meets the third Wednesday of each Month. Because of Covid-19 and the camp not being open the entire year, many Board decisions were made via telephone or over the computers. The 2020 and 2021 forms 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax, were not filed in May 2021 and May 2022 because the Treasurer believed that the income was not great enough that he had to file the returns. Without the contributions we received during 2020 and 2021, we would not have been able to meet our daily obligations throughout the year. Pt VI, Line 12c Currently we do not have a written conflict of interest policy. Hopefully, we will be able to put one in writing and have a vote on that at our next annual meeting. Although we do not have such a policy in place, the Board Members are very careful not to do anything that has the appearance of a "conflict of interest". Since most of the Board Members are active in 4-H it would not take long for word to get out throuhout the County and there would be a substantial outcry by all 4-H Members. Pt VII, Col (E) As stated previously, all Members of the Board of Directors, including the Treasurer are volunteers and receive no compensation. Pt XII, Line 2c Our books and records have not been audited by an independent auditor. Our Treasurer is a Certified Public Accountant and reviews all monthly transactions prior to the next Board meeting. If there was an issue, he would present it to the Board immediately. Since we barely break even each year, the Board does not feel that we could afford to have a CPA Firm do an independent review. Pt VI, Line 15a The Board of Directors have a personnel committee that meets and discusses any and all wage increases for all of the Camp's full-time and part-time employees. Then they bring their recommendation(s) to the entire Board for discussion and action. All of our employees except the Camp Manager are seasonal and mostly work from June through September.
