The Convention committee looks at the number of years a coach has been a member, their times attending the Convention, their demographic survey answers as we have 10 scholarships earmarked for coaches from minority backgrounds. The Convention committee reads the applicants appeal and makes a selection as to which 40 people to award each of the scholarships. Quigley Scholarship 3000 The Quigley Scholarship is open to IWLCA members only. The selection process is done through an application process. There is a scholarship committee who reviews the applicants and selects the candidate who best exemplifies the spirt of the award. Trina Mangano Scholarship 3000 The Trina Mangano Scholarship is open to any person. The selection process is done through an application process. There is a scholarship committee who reviews the applicants and selects the candidate who best exemplifies the spirit of the award. Line Additional Info Annual Meeting Scholarships 12,500 are granted by the IWLCA Board of Directors to aid coaches in their travel to the IWLCA Annual Convention. Coaches submit an application for consideration. The 500 scholarships are decided by the Board of Directors and chosen annually. Quigley Scholarship 3000 To honor passion, commitment and values of Quigley, the former Seton Hill Coach who was tragically killed in a bus accident in 2013 while traveling with her team. The IWLCA has established a scholarship in her name. The purpose of this scholarship will be to subsidize a trip to the location of the IWLCA Convention for the recipients family. The time-intensive nature of the coaching profession is significant and family time is often sacrificed. The opportunity for a family to join a coach on this trip represents the very essence of Kristina Quigley. Trina Mangano Scholarship 3000 Trina Mangano was a national and international rated lacrosse official who served as a member of the USL Training Committee, was a CWLOA trainer, and also served as the officials assigner for the IWLCA recruiting events. She was instrumental in supporting the growth of the sport through her work training officials. This annual scholarship fund will allow the IWLCA to select 5-6 new officials each year and underwrite the cost of training, rating, and outfitting the official for a uniform.
