Most of these are in poorer, remote, slum like areas where training and access to resources is limited or non-existent. ServeNow provides these churches and leaders with bibles, scripture resources, and training in a series of discipleship and leadership material over 8 years, so they can systematically instruct their congregations. In the last fiscal year, there were 732 pastor conferences for 10,012 pastors representing 9,150 churches. 653,392 Basic Series books were printed, with 399,964 being distributed within the same fiscal year. 38,494 bibles and other Scripture resources were also distributed. 97 bicycles for pastors with no other means of transportation were given out as well. Primarily through a video program called The Road to Paradise, but also through other online efforts, we reached 141,893,899. Through several centers in two countries in Asia, activities for kids in Ukraine, and sponsored children being provided an education in multiple countries in Africa, we served 9,971 children. Three school buildings were built in Uganda to accommodate 600 children (200 children per school building). 1,540 women were trained through tailoring, cosmetology, baking, and computer classes. 3,247 people benefitted from micro-enterprise projects. 100,183 people went through awareness training on social issues such as human trafficking, child abuse, and women's rights. 1662377 681927 573104 Outstretched Hands - The third pillar of ServeNow addresses people's immediate, urgent, physical, and tangible basic needs to demonstrate God's love in action. The war in Ukraine was a major focus in this last fiscal year. Over 7,747 people were provided some form of war relief from help with evacuation, safe housing, home repairs, and other humanitarian needs. 4 forty-foot medical containers were provided with hospital beds, medical equipment, and wheelchairs. The Salvation Army Humanitarian Aid in Sweden receives medical, handicap and personal equipment from hospitals, community centers and companies. We have written agreements with counties, communities and private companies regarding their equipment. When we receive different items, the hospital establishes the price for each piece of equipment. Depending on its prior use, we discount those prices up to 40%. There are stringent rules regarding comfort, standards, and durability, both from EU and Swedish authorities. All items received and then passed on to ServeNow are cleaned, renovated and in full working condition. Medical machines, etc., are checked by technicians from the donating hospital. As an extra control, we value each major piece of equipment, with matching age, from other groups like Ebay. An organization in Scotland sends boxes of Christmas gifts to our partner in Ukraine where they are distributed to orphanages, nursing homes, and handicap children and their families. We research similar organizations in the US that provide comparable Christmas boxes and discount the cost of their boxes by 70% and then enter that as the FMV of the non-cash contribution.
