In 2022 we provided food to 5,941 visits from individuals. Some customers visited multiple time, such as once a month, but no one individual received $5000 or more of food. 5941 74578 purchase price paid by the Food Share for food given $67,203 worth of food distributed and $7,375 of gift cards for customers to purchase food (like milk etc.) when we were out of that food product. Also gift cards given out (one per household) to purchase a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Total food and gift cards distributed was $74,578. Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 Program Expenses to Individuals are soley in the form of food distribution from the Food Shelf. WE maintain a log of each recipient's vist and the poundage of food received. In addition we give out some gift certificates for turkeys at Thanksgiving and Christmas and occasionally for needed food that the Food Shelf does not currently stock. No individual received more than $5,000 Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Draft copies of the Form 990 send to all members of the Board of Directors by email. All reviewed Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Reviewed requirements of the Conflict policy regularly at Board meeting and reminded members of need to disclose. Annually reviewed at June annual meeting Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 All members of the Board of Directors and Officers are volunteers and receive no compensation Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 All records are maintained at the office open to the public and available for inspection by the public We tried to file this 2022 calendar year Form 990 timely in March 2023, but the filing was rejected because the IRS computer showed our fiscal year as ending on 6-30. Yet the IRS had accepted a 2021 Form 990EZ for the 2021 calendar year. I called the IRS on March 29, 2023 and was told to write a letter requesting a change of accounting period. I did so on March 29, 2023, but never received a response from the IRS. After waiting for a response I tried to file an amended 2021 short period return requesting a change of accounting period, but my filing software would not send it because it showed I had an accepted calendar year 2021. I made numerous calls to the IRS, was referred to the Tax Policy section but each time after a lengthy time hold the calls terminated without me speaking to anyone. I finally got this efile provider to do something with their program to allow me to file an amended 2021 Form 990EZ using a short period ending in December and requesting a change in accounting period. That was filed and shown as accepted on June 29, 2023. I have waited a couple weeks for the IRS computers to complete the change of accounting period and now am trying to file the correct 2022 Form 990
