To serve these clients effectively, SWIRC added two additional clinic days reserved to serve these newly arrived Afghan immigrants; recruited new volunteers and doubled the size of our staff team to include: three full-time paralegals; an operations and community outreach manager, and an administrator. We also added equipment, computer software, a new client management system, and developed a comprehensive program to better assess and serve the legal needs of our Afghan clients. Our first goal involved completing immigration applications for each client within three to four office visits. SWIRC also continued to provide services to SApanish-speaking immigrants. In addition to the large number of Venezuelan refugees in 2022. We saw an increase in services provided to Unaccompanied minors, and people from Nicaragua, Colombia, and Cuba.
