Food justice programs (Manna Market & Pantry), More Blue Sky Employment Center, and Green Waters Health Center are hubs for impactful change for adults and youth; for themselves, their families, their communities, and indeed, enriches all of Utah in creating and strengthening a diverse middle class. During the process of working toward employment, an adult receives a Great Clips Hair Cut, new Famous Footwear shoes, and name brand interview clothing. 38.5% of those entering these services are placed in live-able wage, health- benefited, employment. The impact of a constant source of income in the family cannot be understated as it reaches over 65,000 people in extended family units in economic education and monetary benefit. In addition, $60 million is generated in the local and American economy; and $20 million is saved for better expenditure in unused government assistance. 6247 6247 0 MOSAIC's in-home senior assistance program provides a free information packet to area seniors and their caregivers. In this free resource packet, MOSAIC provides a listing of low-cost home health aides to provide in-home care in order that a senior can stay home safely - as long as possible. Yard care and snow removal is part of the benefit. 55 home health aides, CNAs, RNs are currently working in MOSAIC's home health aide listing. in 2022, 1059 senior packets were distributed. Additionally, 1612 - 55+ and Blue Book Senior Resource books and COVID-19 health kits were provided seniors. Food and Health kits were provided liberally to senior clients in the food distribution services (counted separately). Thus, it would be a mistake to take the hours that a person is listed as working and divide it by the compensation to get an hourly wage. Each person receiving compensation at MOSAIC has a written agreement which details: hours, tasks/duties, start and end date (if appropriate), etc. There is no requirement to do volunteer hours. A person can come and go at will in regards to volunteer hours by simply signing in and out on the volunteer log. The volunteer log only being kept to document volunteer hours as a demographic number for the Agency. There is no Agency requirement or pressure to do professional volunteer hours beyond a person's written agreement for compensation. That said, there is an atmosphere of volunteerism in Utah, and at MOSAIC, where people do pitch in. For example, the CEO, with a doctorate and nearly 40 years experience in five major cities in similar work, takes a very modest salary and chooses to give many professional volunteer hours at MOSAIC without seeking pay and in service to the public with no strings attached. Many of the people who serve at MOSAIC have that their own internal service model and joy at giving their labor and inkind donations to diverse MOSAIC ministries. When at all possible, MOSAIC does try to build in compensation models, however. For example, hiring for the Community Health Workers during the Pandemic 12/2021-6/2024 with pass-through Federal funding. MOSAIC keeps clear boundaries between when a person is a professional employee or in a contractual arrangement (1099) and when they are in a professional volunteer position. Given clear role differentiation and written agreements this model has been successful at MOSAIC in serving the public for 28 years. Form 990, Header, Line B Part XII: Please note that MOSAIC typically has just under $100,000 per annual year. 2022 was unusual in that MOSAIC was chosen to complete some very temporary COVID-19 pass-through federal funding grants. Still, two professionals with four decades and five decades of CPA/Fiscal experience will provide internal audits of the 2022 records in May of 2022. This will cover the years 2021 and 2022 and will be posted on www.LSSU.org under the "About Us" tab. Scroll down to see a copy of the audit letter for this period. Edits and comments are integrated into the final copy. The final 990 is approved by the Board of Trustees at its next Board of Trustees scheduled meeting; and discussion and action is notated in official Board of Trustee Board meeting minutes.
