We provide faith-based sober living transition homes to men in addiction recovery. 0 0 273727 0 196114 Sammy's Mission provides fully furnished sober living houses to men in addiction recovery. Our homes are nice homes in residential areas where the men are required to work, pay a program fee, attend weekly recovery meetings, attend church and give back to the community. They are held accountable by us as the staff as well as their peers. They are given drug tests frequently and we have a zero-tolerance for any substance use of any kind. In addition to fully furnished houses, we have 5 ministry vehicles that assist the men in getting to work, chuch and meetings. We, as a ministry also assist men and women who are ready for a rehab program, enter into a suitable rehab or detox program. We will often help them with any entry fee's as well as transportation. In 2022 we helped over 140 men and women enter into a detox, rehab or transitional sober living. Also, the national average of person's who relapse within the first year after treatment is 85%. In 2022, the repapse rate for men who went through our program was 30%. 42% of the men that came through our program, now have over 1 year of sobriety. He owns two of the homes that Sammy's Mission rents for our Transition Homes. He charges us a rent of fair market value and nothing is given to him in exchange for his being our landlord. 0 Ben Carnes Board Member 19200 Amount paid to Mr. Carnes for one year of rent. He owns a home that Sammy's Mission rents for a transition house. He charges us a rent of fair market value and he receives nothing in exchange for him being our landlord. 0 Schedule L, Part IV These two men are members of our board. They rent us houses at fair market value and recieve nothing but the fair market value of rent in exchange for allowing us to use these homes for the ministry. Form 990, Part III, Line 4a Sammy's Mission provides homes to men in addiction recovery. Our homes are for when the men have come out of a successful rehab stay and still want to be held accountable while striving to live an independent, sober life. We provide them with a fully furnished, nice home. All items needed for comfortable living are provided for the men. They are responsible for their own toiletries, clothes and food. They do pay us a weekly program fee of $175.00. We provide them with transportation to and from work as well as church and recovery meetings. In addition to providing house for the men, we also help me and women who are ready to seek treatment, the ability to gain entry into an appropriate detox and rehab center. We will assist them with any entry fee's as well as transportation costs in getting them to these places. In 2022, we had 88 men who came through Sammy's Mission. Our goal is to have these men maintain sobriety well into the future and hopefully forever. Per the National Institute of Drug Abuse, 85% of persons relapse within the first year of a successful rehab stay. In the year of 2022, our replase rate was only 30%! 32% of the men who come through our program stay for 6 months or more, which his what we ask of them. We cultivate a culture of "family". We have conservatively helped 140 men and women gain entry into detox centers, rehabs and other transition programs in 2022. Board Member Mandi Carson is the daughter of Board Member David Britton Board Member David Carson and Board Member Kirby Murdaugh are 1st Cousins. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b A hard copy and electronic copy of the completed 990 was shown to each board member prior to the filing of the 990. The hard copy was presented at our April Board Meeting and the electronic copy was emailed to each board member. At the January meeting of every year, this survey is gone over at the meeting and any and all conflicts of interest are gone over with the board. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Prior to establishing the salary for Mandi Carson, the Director of Ministry Operations the board discussed the decision at length and deliberated on a fair salary for her according to the scope and amount of work that she was doing for the non-profit organization.
