At year end, the Campaign had no unrecognized tax benefits related to uncertain tax positions in its information return that would qualify for either recognition or disclosure in its financial statements. The Campaigns policy would be to recognize interest and penalties on tax positions related to its unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense in the financial statements. Through year end, there have been no matters that would have resulted in an accrual for interest and/or penalties. Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11 After the accountant works with the Operations and Bookkeeping Manager to complete an initial draft the Director of Development and Executive Director review all forms and schedules. All notes from that review are taken on forms and necessary changes are made to form 990 and appropriate schedules. Following the completion of the 2nd draft, the Development Director, Operations and Bookkeeping Manager, and the Executive Director review the finalized version of the forms. If errors are found, the process is repeated until forms are complete and accurate to the best knowledge of the team. Once forms are finalized, 990 and all schedules are reviewed with the co-chairs of the governing body. If errors are found during the final review, corrections are made, for a follow-up review. If the final review turns up no errors or inaccuracies, the co-chair of the Governing Board certifies returns and signs Part II, Signature Block. All draft versions of 990 and appropriate schedules are kept on file with the finalized return.
