We believe that powerful literacy skills are core to social justice, social mobility, and equal opportunity. We work towards this goal with two complementary programs: 1) a youth writing and journalism program, Teens in Print and 2) professional development and coaching services to schools, districts and education organizations so that they may better serve young people to develop into independent and engaged readers, writers and critical thinkers. In 2022-2023, our Teens in Print program engaged over 70 middle and high school students through after-school and summer programming, and online publication. In our professional development and coaching services, our instructional coaches worked with 234 educators from a total of 8 partner schools and organizations across 6 school districts in Massachusetts. In total, our services for youth and educators had a reach of more than 9,000 middle and high school students during FY 23.
