Presented 15 sessions throughout the year at various state-wide and national conferences, including Interfaith Advocacy Days, the 2022 Catholic Creation Care Network, and the Multifaith Climate Justice Network's Sacred Earth Fair in Bellingham, WA. Celebrated the conclusion of the Shmita Year at Congregation Beth Shalom and began preparations for Shmita Project NW's 2023 goals. Introduced new program curriculum and hosted 2 teach-ins and 2 additional workshops on Environmental and Climate Justice: The History of Environmental Justice Nationally and in Washington State. Spring 2022 promoted and turned-out people of faith to the Intertribal Spirit of the Seas Tour hosted by Lummi Nation's Se'Si'Le, which held Totem Pole Journey events in Bellingham, Eugene, Astoria, Portland, Celilo Falls, Pendelton, Lewiston/Clarkson, Fort Hall, Tacoma, and Seattle; called on federal officials to implement policies to protect sacred places and manage them based on tribal sovereignty and Nation-to-Nation relations. Fall of 2022, promoted and turned-out people of faith to the International Salmon Seas Symposium, which highlighted stories from global and NW Indigenous voices on the importance of rivers and salmon recovery for the health and vitality of the ecosystem. This event, also showcased an Earth Ministry/WAIPL led project the delivery of a letter written and signed by all five Washington State Catholic bishops, calling on policy makers to be in dialogue with Indigenous Communities as principal partner for salmon recovery. Supported tribal efforts to return healthy and abundant salmon populations to the Northwest and mobilized people of faith to publicly comment on the release of the Murray/Inslee Report. Over 256 faith leader from Washington signed onto the letter affirming the report and calling for the Governor's office and the Senator's office to use the findings to remove and replace the dams services. Engaged the faith community on gas emissions, building codes and human health, by the helping to ensure passage of the Washington State Building Codes change which will require all new residential and commercial construction to use electric heat pumps and stoves. With over 300 comments from people of faith, Washington State now has one of the most climate-friendly building codes in the United States. Earth Ministry/WAIPL also expanded our focus on sustainable and accessible solar by officially partnering with a local black-owned solar company, Sphere Solar. This partnership will allow individuals and faith communities to have energy audits and work towards adding solar to their buildings. Provided resources and staff support for 450 congregations implementing creation care activities, and supported a growing Colleague Connections program for collaboration between congregational activists. Successfully, transitioned through an interim executive leadership change by hiring a new Executive Director after a nation-wide search. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B: After preparation by an independent accounting firm, the Form 990 is reviewed by the executive director (or interim director) and finance director/bookkeeper to insure completeness and accuracy of reported information. The executive director reviews the Form 990 with the board treasurer, who then presents it to all Board members for their review. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C: All Board members are required to agree to the conflict of interest policy when they come onto the board and to reaffirm commitment to the policy once per year. There have been no conflicts to date, but should a conflict arise, the Board member with the conflict would recuse themselves from any discussion or vote concerning that conflict. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A: The full board of directors sets the Executive Director's salary based on a recommendation from the Board Personnel Committee, which conducts the executive director's evaluation.
