Our goals and progress include: 1. Reopening The Union as a Media Lab: Our primary post-pandemic goal was achieved by transforming The Union into a Media Lab. . We launched a creative media residency program with our first resident, Sydney Swonigan, sharing inspiring co-parenting stories through her podcast Exes & Babies. 2. Hiring Studio Manager and Content Producer: To ensure the smooth operation of The Union, we hired a Studio Manager and Content Producer who have contributed to successful media initiatives and our residency program. 3. Solo Magic Multimedia Experience: Despite the pandemic's impact on in-person events, Solo Magic produced multimedia experiences centered on healing and transgenerational trauma. With a residency secured and funding support, the Keeper of Sadness project will be completed in June 2023, thanks to a talented team of artists, engineers, consultants, and facilitators. 4. Tribe Called Tech: We completed the design phase of Tribe Called Tech, a networking platform connecting students and tech professionals of African descent. Partnering with DataBricks, we developed the platform and are launching a podcast to drive awareness and build partnerships with HBCUs. 5. Board of Directors Expansion: We successfully expanded our Board of Directors, bringing in individuals who align with our mission and provide valuable expertise. 6. Nurturing Roots Programmatic Growth: As fiscal sponsor and parent organization of Nurturing Roots, we supported its growth and achieved a remarkable 900% expansion. These achievements demonstrate our commitment to innovation, community support, and programmatic excellence.
