Our Food Pantry also relies heavily on a large donor base of food from area churches, businesses, clubs and groups. An individual or family can visit our pantry once a week and self-select what food they desire. The pantry is managed and staffed by a team of volunteers who pour into the clients and build close ties to them as they assis them in the "shopping" process. 42904 0 1509 Our Wardrobe offers our clients twice a month an opportunity to receive clothing, shoes, socks, coats, belts, and more as needed. All our inventory for our Wardrobe comes from donations from individuals and all the clothing is new or clean/gently used items. A specialty area of A Turning Point's Wardrobe is that of business attire for adults in hopes to equip them for interviews and the work place. When families "shop" in the Wardrobe, they hae a personal volunteer assistant who helps them to locate what they're looking for and be a positive, friendly presence in the process. 20819 0 22200 The Academy is A Turning Point's most unique program. Our Academy offers adults an opportunity to earn a high school diploma rather than the more traditional HiSET (GED) route. An adult's past high school transcript is assessed identifying credits needed for graduation, an individual program is created based on the deficiencies, and A Turning Point then provides all the hands-on curriculum, technology resources, and one-on-one mentoring/tutoring needed for the student to earn the credits needed.
