Lodging: The Ronald McDonald House at Children's, Minneapolis is an in-hospital facility with 15 private rooms that serves families with a child in the hospital's NICU or PICU. In 2022, it served 2,458 families, accommodated 5,896 visitors, provided 4,620 nights of lodging and saved families more than $1 million in lodging and meal costs.Lodging: The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, with four overnight rooms, serves the pediatric trauma and disability community. In 2022, this location supported 524 families, provided 1,165 nights of lodging and $230,000 in cost savings.Lodging: The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Children's, St Paul, with four overnight rooms, primarily serves families from the east metro, including western Wisconsin. In 2022, this site served 138 families, provided 1,325 nights of lodging and $274,000 in cost savings to families.Lodging: The Ronald McDonald House Northland in Duluth, MN opened in February 2021 to serve families with children undergoing treatment at Essentia Health. Last year it served 114 families, provided 717 nights of lodging and $178,000 in cost savings. 568138 Volunteer Services: In 2022, approximately 4,600 individuals worked more than 27,000 hours in support of our mission which is the equivalent of nearly 13 full-time employees. The growth in volunteer support was partly due to the reinstatement of the Cooks for Kids program late last year, allowing small volunteer groups to prepare and serve meals at three of our five Minnesota locations. Other volunteers served as delivery drivers, administrative assistants, event workers and more. 192777 Family Services: The RMH School at RMH-Oak St. provided 646 student days last year, with most of the students in grades K-5. Form 990, Part III, line 2 Due to COVID, in mid-March 2020 when we were not able to accommodate onsite volunteers, we established a centrally managed meal team to prepare and deliver meals to our three Twin Cities hospital-based sites. In 2021 and 2022 we continued to expand the program called Fresh FamFare and currently provide three fresh and healthy meals each day at our five Minnesota locations. Last year, the Fresh FamFare program saved families more $1,169,100.00 in out-of-pocket expenses for cafeteria and restaurant meals, vending machine purchases, etc. By providing onsite meals, to-go entrees, healthy and substantial snack bags, beverages and more, we not only saved families time and money, we also reduce a significant source of stress, enabling them to focus more fully on their child and his/her care plan. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 1a The Executive Committee is made up of members appointed by the board. Currently, the officers of the board make up the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee oversees the operations and management of RMHC as well as reviews and approves the President & CEO's salary. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b Management reviews a draft of the Form 990, addressing any questions or comments, and then provides a draft to the Finance Committee. All committee members approve the draft and the final draft is sent to all board members for comments prior to filing with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c All Ronald McDonald House board and staff members complete the conflict of interest statement annually. These statements are reviewed by the Staff Accountant. If there are any conflicts noted these statements are forwarded to the RMH Management Committee. If a transaction/relationship is considered to be a conflict, management follows-up with the individual to document the disclosure in more detail. At this point, a file is created with any supporting documents regarding the conflict. The person with the conflict of interest is excluded from the discussion and approval of such transaction. This committee is made up of members appointed by the board. The committee maintains a matrix of salaries, which is used in determining the President & CEO and staff salaries. This matrix is developed using external industry averages. As part of this review process information is solicited from the board.
