The grant was for $9,760 and it was used to launch the program Pedale Con Conciencia (Pedal with Conscience) - a program that supported the development of a cycling school in Cabrera, Colombia, where 21 children, ages 5 - 15, learned athletic skills and received mental health support. Children were also given bikes. The program launched in August 2022. Cabrera is a small, rural, and vulnerable population in Colombia. Funds were used to pay for the 2 trainers and 1 psychologist, buy and maintain cycling equipment, run and sign up kids for competitions, and run other operations of the project.
